About the Guild of TentMasters

The Guild Of TentMasters was formed in 1992 as a multi-disciplinary professional standards association for those who are involved in the construction and dismantling of tensile fabric and / or membrane roofed structures. The Guild brings together members to raise standards and awareness, educate individuals and disseminate knowledge across the industries.

With the advent of new regulations, working practices, and types of equipment, a cohesive approach is required to raise standards and acquire knowledge in the field of temporary membrane structures, and the ever-growing area of permanently installed fabric membranes and roofs.

Training, awareness and knowledge are the core mandates of the Guild, with its primary intention being for the qualifications of Tent Technician and Tent GECO to be recognised as fundamental and skilled sectors of the construction and events industries. The formal title of TentMaster (TM) is awarded by the Guild Council to those individuals who demonstrate exceptional skill, knowledge and working practices in their specific field of structure.
